General settings
Name, description, and avatar — the surface details users see.
The General tab of the bot detail page is where you adjust the surface attributes — what the bot is called and what it looks like. None of these affect training; you can change them any time.
Name#
The chatbot name appears in:
- The Dashboard card.
- The Chat Workspace header.
- The embed widget greeting.
Up to 50 characters. Make it descriptive — your future self and your team will thank you.
Short description#
Optional, up to 200 characters. Shown on the Dashboard card and inside the create-bot summary. Use it for context like "Trained with 2024 HR Handbook".
Avatar#
A small image that represents the bot in chat and on cards.
- Formats: JPG, PNG, WebP.
- Max size: 5 MB.
- Crop: Pegasus does not crop — upload a roughly square image for best results.
To upload, click Upload in the Avatar section. To remove, click Remove — the bot falls back to a generated initial-based avatar.
Save changes#
Edits stay pending until you click Save changes. Closing the tab without saving discards the edits.
A confirmation toast appears: "Bot updated successfully."
Delete the bot#
The bottom of the General tab has a Danger zone with a Delete chatbot button. See Delete a bot before clicking — the action cannot be undone.
