Chat troubleshooting
Common chat errors and what to do about them.
A short reference of the most common chat-side errors and their fixes.
"Bot is not ready for chat"#
The bot you picked isn't in READY status. The most common causes are NO_DATA, UNTRAINED, or PENDING.
→ See Bot is not ready for a full diagnosis.
"Failed to send message"#
Network-level error or a transient backend issue. Try again. If it persists for more than a minute, check your internet connection. Reload the page if necessary — your draft message is kept in the input bar.
"Response was interrupted"#
The response stream stopped before finishing. Causes:
- The model upstream timed out or hit a content-length limit.
- Your connection dropped briefly.
- The page lost focus on a flaky mobile browser.
Click your message and send it again, or rephrase as a shorter question.
"Bot is not visible in the active workspace"#
You switched workspace mid-conversation. The bot exists somewhere else (probably your Personal workspace if you switched to a team, or vice versa). Switch back to view this conversation.
"Workspace context changed. Refreshing workspace state."#
Pegasus detected an inconsistency between the URL and the active workspace and is reloading. This usually self-resolves in a second.
"Your team access changed. Switched back to personal workspace."#
Your seat was changed or revoked, or the team was deleted. You are now in Personal. Any team conversation you had open is no longer accessible to you.
"Max Mode is not enabled for this bot"#
You tried to enable Max Mode in chat but the bot doesn't allow it. Either turn off the chat-level Max Mode toggle, or open the bot's Source settings and enable Max Mode (requires Pro/Ultra).
"Max Mode requires Pro or Ultra plan"#
Your plan is Free. Either disable the chat-level Max Mode toggle, or upgrade.
"No bots are ready"#
When opening New chat, no bots are in READY status. Train at least one bot before starting a conversation.
