Read-only state
What it means when a team workspace becomes read-only.
A team workspace can enter read-only mode. When it does, every member (including the owner) sees a banner explaining the state, and write actions are disabled across the app.
When does it happen?#
A team becomes read-only when one of these is true:
- The team subscription has a pending cancellation (the read-only state lasts until the cancellation date).
- The team's quota tracking is disabled by workspace policy.
Pegasus shows the read-only banner at the top of the workspace and on the Team Management page.
What you can do#
- Browse bots, conversations, usage, team members, invitations, subscription details.
- Chat with bots that are already READY (chatting consumes credits — if the team's quota is enabled this still counts; if disabled, chat is also disabled).
- Switch to your Personal workspace at any time to continue working there.
What you can't do#
- Create new bots, edit existing ones, upload new documents, or change system prompts.
- Train any bot. The Train button is disabled.
- Modify the embed widget config.
- Invite new members or change seats.
- Create or revoke personal access tokens scoped to this team.
Reverting read-only#
If the team is pending cancellation, the team owner can Revert cancellation from the Team Management → Subscription tab before the cancel date. The read-only state lifts immediately.
